Stormlight Capital is seeking to acquire a company with the following criteria:
Longevity: At least 5 years of operating history with strong differentiation from its competitors
Financials: Targeting companies with $500K to $2.0M in earnings
Industries: Travel with a focus on luxury, adventure, and/or eco-tourism and experiential / recreational family entertainment
Location: Fully-remote operations or within 60 miles of Los Angeles
The firm is led by Daniel Batista, a seasoned C-suite executive with over two decades of experience in media, entertainment, technology, and consumer products sectors. Daniel brings extensive travel experience having been to 63 countries and lived and worked in the U.S., UK, Spain, and Mexico. Daniel’s strategic, operational, and global perspective make him uniquely positioned to lead Stormlight Capital in identifying and stewarding the long-term success of its future acquisition.
About Daniel Batista
Daniel was most recently COO of Blackstone-backed Exile Content, a leading TV, film, podcast and social content studio focused on Latin America, Spain and US Hispanic audiences. Prior to Exile, Daniel was the Co-Founder, President & COO of BESE, a digital media studio and publisher founded by Oscar-winning actress Zoe Saldana.
Previously he served in executive roles at Mitú, a leading digital-first media brand for Latino youth backed by Upfront Ventures and Verizon Ventures, and at theAudience, a celebrity social media publishing startup backed by William Morris Endeavor. Before entering the digital media startup space, Daniel was a Case Team Leader at L.E.K. Consulting where he led various case teams in the healthcare, technology, media, retail, and CPG sectors.
Prior to business school, Daniel spent eight years in global finance and distribution roles in television and film at three major studios (Universal, Warner Bros and Paramount) based out of Los Angeles, London and Mexico City. Daniel received his MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and his BS from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley where he also received his BA in Psychology.
